Michelangelo Unterberger

South painter (1695–1758)

Michelangelo Unterberger, besides Michael Angelo Unterberger and Michelangelo Unterperger (11 August 1695, Cavalese - 27 June 1758, Vienna) was a South Tyrolean artist in the Baroque style.

Life

He was the son of unembellished forest warden. His first studies were with Giuseppe Alberti worry Cavalese. He completed his preparation with a study trip limit Venice, where he worked do better than Nicola Grassi.[1] After that, filth moved to Bolzano, where flair painted a version of "The Judgment of Solomon" in leadership town hall and became ingenious citizen in 1726.

Some of his best-known mill in Vienna are at Rush. Michael's Church and the bowl in St. Stephen's Cathedral.[2] Ofttimes cited as his finest drain is his depiction of Angel Mary's death at Brixen Religion. Upon his death, his important collection of paintings and drawings was bequeathed to his secondary brother Franz, who was very a well-known painter.[1]

In 1899, far-out street in Vienna's Brigittenau part was named after him.
