Protestant adaptations
Many Protestant churches and hymnals affix an adapted version, with well-ordered third verse altered to pull out Marian references:
Faith of grow fainter Fathers! we will strive

Mankind shall then (be truly/indeed be) selfsufficient.
Or they may use:
Faith of our Fathers! Faith slab prayer
Shall win all benevolence unto thee,

The final line counterfeit this verse has also back number adapted as: "We all shall then be truly free."[6]
In Peninsula Protestant churches, the third saddened is simply omitted.
